Physical Description:
Joaquin has been around a WHILE and has grown from a angsty mid 20s self hating failure to a happy and well adjusted father.
He’s put on some weight after becoming a father and has filled out nicely. Still spends time on his appearance but accepts himself now and is much better for it. Joaquin’s hair is a blue-black with some grey and the signature Calloway Curl in the middle of his forehead. His eyes are grey and have the highlighted moon circle around his iris permanently.
Personality:
You ever take an emo kid and have him grow past his trauma? That’s joaquin. He is extremely dedicated to his family and takes that role more seriously than anyone ought to. He loves HARD and will tell you how proud he is of you.
Joaquin is very professional and great when wearing his Vigilante/Demi-god mask of the Nightengale. The dashing and heroic persona is only capable when the mask is on. When it is off he is quietly passionate and is useless without drinking a pot of coffee in the morning. His favorite thing in the world is being underestimated and being taken for a commoner and then flipping the literal tables on them. It’s a guilty pleasure.

Backstory: this is his backstory in my dnd world, basically the canon for him now
Prince Cassidy calloway was the middle child born into the Legendary Calloway family. They ruled silistone since it was created and were blessed by the moon before history was written. Cassidy never saw himself having any value and thought he was a complete failure to his family and was a stain on their reputation. Just after his 20th birthday when his father King Calhoun Calloway was giving a speech he stopped an assassination attempt, saving his fathers life but it looked to everyone that he killed an innocent guard.
Cassidy ran. For five years he burned through aliases who also were each met with crushing failure. Alone and in hiding he took on the guise of Joaquin McQuinston. If he was so terrible he might as well become a man worse. He stumbled into a murder plot by a dragon goddess while meeting Jojo and Havi. When the plot revealed to target his family he was terrified to return home but with the support of his new friends found his way back to Silistone. With their help he defeated the god and saved multiple nations in the process! Wow dnd campaigns.
Joaquin made peace with his family, but was still lonely enough to marry the first awful man who paid him any attention. It was a terrible relationship (love potions are bad actually) but Joaquin clung to it nonetheless as the years kept passing and he stopped aging. He was still working as the Nightengale and his persona had gained enough love and support is ascended him to being a demi god. After his siblings and parents passed away, the Calloway name was lost to history. The pain of all of it just amounted to him breaking it off with his husband and going on a journey to find the history of his family.
Years later he was fighting an ancient blue dragon in western silistone when he came across two children whose parents had abandoned them in fear of the dragon. He personally brought the orphans on his horse the few day trip to a good orphanage and started paying for whatever they needed. Joaquin would come by and check in on them every few weeks until one day the 8 year old boy grabbed onto him demanding to know why he wasn’t good enough for joaquin to take him home. That was Gutter.
Joaquin really came into himself after taking Gutter and Giddy home with him and having the family he desperately wanted! Those two are his everything. He created a home for them near the border of silistone and roshawk and trained those two to be heroes like his mother trained him. In spirit of trying to repair the connections between Silistone and Solendale Joaquin began personally training Crowne Prince Theodore Solis as well, Teddy.
But this man still wanted that special someone in his life SO BADLY. And man did he find the wrong one.
Joaquin and Lenya met at a fundraiser in Roshawk and went home together without any idea who the other one was. After an incredible night joaquin was hooked to win this man over. High Mage Lord Lenya Herlofsky and him did missions together, went to eat together and spent many nights together. When Joaquin told him how in love he was Lenya dumped him. This cycle continued for nearly a decade. Afterall Lenya didn’t have a heart and wasn’t able to feel any passion or positive emotions. Joaquin thought he had enough love for both of them. But after 10 years of “dating” one of Joaquin’s students/followers Nadira brought lenya back his heart and now they are married. end.
